This is Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 (Beta 8), taken straight from Steam. It can run even if you don't have Steam, and it can run if you have Steam as well. Screenshots: http://i.imgur.com/o7HVJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YXsDN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CqRAG.png http://i.imgur.com/1rlSS.jpg

nice upload
whats the meaning of beta 8
It's the eighth PC beta that wasn't meant to be released on Steam to users who pre-ordered the game. I've only got up to the third boss but it feels pretty solid. Only problem is the special spindash with Sonic/Tails keeps going one direction; if its even a bug at all.
Can anyone get Episode Metal working with the Unleashed release? I beat the game
and by Unleashed release I mean episode 1.
If someone can figure out how to make Sonic 4 Episode 2 communicate properly with the Steam API without making it unable to launch, then that should enable Episode Metal. The only reason why Episode Metal doesn't work (theoretically) is because I cut off all API access between S4E2 and Steam, in order to get it to run.
Good game,Thanx. :+)
I've figured it out. Episode Metal is unlocked via a flag that is set inside the save game file. If the person who bought Episode II launches Episode II and has Episode I in their Steam account, it will set this flag to true inside the save game, thus unlocking Episode Metal. Now, all we need is said save file.
I just grabbed MDK's release that reportedly unlocks metal. I haven't gone into Windows and booted it up yet but what's apparent is that theres a "Steamclient.dll" and "Skidrow.ini" that were taken from the Generations scene release. I'll see if I can get metal working with your release through a savefile.
Works perfect, thank you !
Do you also have a Sonic 4 Ep1?

ok, I finally got it to run after getting the dll files from the internet. But it's running slow when I know my computer can push faster and more elaborate games than this. Does anyone know how I can make it go at full speed?
