Against the Storm takes us on a journey to a fantasy world inhabited by people, beavers and lizards. The land is struggling with Blightstorm - a powerful storm that cyclically destroys everything in its path. During the game, we play the role of a viceroy, commissioned by the ruler to acquire resources necessary to rebuild and improve the capital Smouldering City. To do this, we must build more settlements in the wilderness and bravely face the adversities of fate.

In Against the Storm, the action is shown from a bird's eye view. The game takes place in the rhythm of three rainy seasons, varying in terms of the intensity of rainfall and the violence of storms. As managers of the newly established settlement, we must focus primarily on its continuous expansion. This requires us to constantly clear the forest, acquire raw materials, and build various structures and create complex production chains.

Among the available buildings, the most important are the gathering camps that allow for the exploitation of natural resources and workshops that produce various goods. In the pursuit of the desire to complete the mission entrusted to us, we should not forget about our subjects, who must not only have a place to sleep, but also something to eat; from time to time we should also provide them with a bit of entertainment, which they will find, among others, in taverns. As we progress, we unlock random improvements and schematics that should make our lives a little easier.

We can use the collected resources to expand Smouldering City. After the storm passes, we have no choice but to choose a place on the map (procedurally generated) changed by violent storms and begin the arduous process of building another settlement on the new territory.

Against the Storm: Keepers of the Stone:

As in the case of the basic version of the game, in Against the Storm: Keepers of the Stone we learn about the struggles of animal-like creatures in a fantasy world threatened by a strong, destructive storm. The expansion offers a new land - Seaside Grove. Having emerged from the water, it attracts the attention of the frog species with the ruins of ancient settlements that conceal valuable items.

Gameplay in Against the Storm combines mechanics known from city builder strategies with roguelike elements. Players build small settlements in a difficult environment, with limited resources. There is a limited time to complete specific goals.

The Keepers of the Stone DLC allows you to experience new water exploration mechanics, thanks to the playable species of frogs, whose each new settlement begins on the shore of a lake. These creatures are also skilled in stonemasonry. Thanks to the construction of the Rover Port, we are able to organize escapades for sunken treasures. To do this, we must take care of food supplies for both the Rover and its "driver". In the add-on, we face 12 new challenges.

The Against the Storm: Keepers of the Stone add-on requires the base game to run.
