Everything works for me, but the game takes loads about 3x (or more!) time to load just about anything. What I did is:
1. Install game as normal
a. extract RARs until you get an ISO
b. mount and install as normal
2. Install patch from game launcher
3. DONE.
This worked for me, but like I said, everything takes forever to load.

I can't seem to download the 4.01 patch through the launcher. Could someone maybe upload it?
I've followed the correct steps, as given by multiple people, but I can't complete the last part, the patch, because when I click it in the launcher, it simply does nothing.
I have used:
- Hearts of Iron III Gold by PPT (HOI3 + Semper FI)
- Hearts of Iron III FTM by 3DM
- Hearts of Iron III TFH by 3DM
The upper two work perfectly, I've also got DLC installed like the sprite packs, but this one doesn't work for me. Again, I can't patch.

I had the same problem as some other users after installing; the game window came up to press Play, Register, and Update. When you click the "Download From Here" link, it does nothing. What I did was to CLICK this file, HOLD the mouse button, and DRAG it to your browser address bar, the place where you type a website address. It dragged the words and turned it into an address, and the browser (Firefox) immediately went to that address and started downloading the patch file.

Logged in my account to say everything is fine except...
Once i apply the 4.01 patch it breaks the game. It literally crashes at "Adapting History" Phase after choosing a country.
Now you probably might think why I wont play 4.00, the issue with that is that it crashes probably a week or so after starting a game for no reason.

thenoobish how did you manage to fuck up packing this way? Rar archives packed into another rar archive? Dafug?
This doesn't work, my game crashes when loading each time after applying it to my For the Motherland.

You don't need to apply all those patches, the expansions have them included. The only one you'd absolutely would have to use would be the 4.1 patch after applying TFH.

This is a great game but I can't get it to work after this update. Their is another torrent out there where you get everything up to 4.1 and you can run that off the desktop, but you need the paradox folder to install 4.02 and it crashes just as it finishes loading every time. I gather others have had this problem - any solutions yet?
SbeebK - I have the same problem, the game always crashes when it finishes loading.

When a program eats alot of ram windows crashes it
Most likely most people here with your computers it crashes when it reaches 1 gig of ram
How to fix?
Get a new computer much better much faster at least 1500 dollars or 1200 euros OR find a way to enable the program to use 1 gig of ram or more without windows crashing it

And when i say via launcher, there is a game launcher menu that installs if you choose it via HOI3 basic, it can be found inside the paradox folder and is called hoi3 and is a small file of 26kb very small

For the semper fi, I used this one, not the russian.. Hearts of Iron III Gold MULTi2-PROPHET
+1 Tycz - His method above including using http://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/6257480/Hearts_of_Iron_III_Gold_MULTi2-PROPHET (Original w/Semper Fi included) in lieu of the lack of Semper Fi seeds at this present time works flawlessly. To avoid confusion when you get to this torrent(aka the TFH), IGNORE the 1.04v patch folder that's also included on the iso. JUST run the setup then the REGULAR launcher. **NOT the ftmlauncher.exe** which is left over after installing the For the Motherland torrent previous (although I'm not positive it makes a difference why make the mistake checking right?)
So you run the launcher, hit check for updates, DRAG the link into your browser's address bar, as mentioned above, install the d/l'ed patch and viola!
The first time I attempted the process of installing all of these I made the mistake of installing the 1.04v patch included on this torrent's ISO after running the TFH install, then I tried patching and my game crashed to desktop after 5 mins of loading screens at the last one of the "sad looking German with the MG42 on his shoulder" lol. Had to uninstall everything and do it over. It was either that or it was the USInfantryUnitPack files I installed at the end that F'ed it all up. Like Tycz said I'm not sure if they work, and I don't feel like having to reinstall again to find out. If I wasn't so lazy I'd try after making a backup of the necessary folders in my install directory, but I'm busy waiting for my map to load atm, which is why I decided to comment in the first place. =P GL maybe I'll try it and let you know later.
