Textbook in PDF format This book was inspired from George Gamow’s book "One, Two, Three...Infinity, Facts and Speculations of Science", written over some 60 years ago! The first part of the book provides a history and collection of modern theories of our universe. It is presented in a non-mathematical format with no equations. Thus, the first part is completely standalone that can be easily read separately for general interest of recent developments in theoretical physics over the past century. However, the supplemental mathematics sections in the second part of the book provide for a more in-depth treatment with the derivation of relevant equations. It allows for the mathematically-inclined reader to better appreciate the general content covered in the first part. It provides answers to several questions such as, “how were such theories developed and what is their fundamental theoretical basis” ? The second part of the book provides some supplemental mathematical foundations of theoretical physics in the same subject areas as the first part. It may be of particular interest to physicists planning on-going advanced studies. Moreover, it may attract interest from physicists, engineers and scientists in other disciplines who have always had a curiosity to better understand the important foundations of modern physics. Preface. Acknowledgements. Introduction. Relativity. Quantum Theory. The Standard Model. String Theory. Cosmology. Black Holes. Epilogue. Appendices: Supplemental Mathematics A. Classical Theory. B. Theory of Relativity. C. Quantum Theory. D. The Standard Model. E. String Theory. F. Cosmology. G. Black Holes. H. Glossary. Bibliography. Index
