Overview:

mohee23, if you search on here there is a copy of the first installment, here is the GOG release i used, it has some menu glitches when it comes to saving and quitting the game but easy to work around (the accept and cancel box is just white so just press enter to save, as for quitting the game just move the mouse to the left a tiny fraction and click).

I already played this game and his prequel years ago. I want to give another try to refresh my memory to Dreamfall Chapters. But for some reason the game keep crashing. I think is related to Microsoft Visual c++ but I'm not sure. Using W7 64.
1. Bugs: For anyone having the same issues as me I've got a workaround. First you must edit the preferences in the "prefs.dat" file located in the main folder. Change fullscreen to 0, so the game will run in a window. Change resolution (height and width) to something smaller than your monitor native resolution. My monitor is set in 1920x1080, but I play in 1600x900. Run the game, if in some point prompt an error, just ignore it (do not close the error message though). Just Alt+tab to the game and have fun.
2. Hint: I've managed to play this game with an Xbox controller using a software called Xpadder. I really recommend play this game with a controller 'cause the game controls sux.
3. Opinion (if anyone cares): I've been playing the game now and I it didn't aged very well in the graphics area. Gameplay is subpar as well - and it was already criticized at the time of release. Playing now is completely different experience from my past memory of this game, but still it shines in some aspects: the history, characters, dialogues and voice actors are excellent. I'm eager to play Dreamfall Chapters in 2014. At last this saga will have a conclusion, and I hope it will be good one.
