There is no excuse for a movie that's only 720 x 304 resolution to be a whopping 2.5gigs. My paramount objective in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not
to save or destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any

You're taking thing entirely out of context and criticizing based on a lack of understanding of either the zeitgeist of his era, the man himself or what democracy entails, at least as it is practiced in the US. You seem to feel a president has the power to force his will on the states without regard to popular opinion or laws of individual states. You're wrong. Obama is a case in point, health care for instance. Slightly under half the country didn't want any reform; they felt people without insurance should not be given free healthcare because they believe it's a "luxury". Obama had to compromise until the system that will be in place in '14 is almost as useless as the one we have now. It was the same with the slavery issue, there were firebrands like Brown who wanted nothing but equality, but the majority were moderate to tepid on the theme. Lincoln wanted primarily to save the Union, yes, but it was breaking up because of slavery and the anti-slavery movement in the north. Ah, forget it, why do I bother speaking reason to you? If it's important to believe Lincoln was useless go ahead, your loss.
