In 1979, the American embassy in Iran was invaded by Iranian revolutionaries and several Americans are taken hostage. However, six manage to escape to the official residence of the Canadian Ambassador and the CIA is eventually ordered to get them out of the country. With few options, exfiltration expert Tony Mendez devises a daring plan: to create a phony Canadian film project looking to shoot in Iran and smuggle the Americans out as its production crew. With the help of some trusted Hollywood contacts, Mendez creates the ruse and proceeds to Iran as its associate producer. However, time is running out with the Iranian security forces closing in on the truth while both his charges and the White House have grave doubts about the operation themselves.

YIFY's videos look perfectly fine on my 72 HDTV. The sound is always the problem though. Don't know why people want to complain about the video quality when it's perfectly fine. These people waiting for 4k and bitching about everything, seriously? do you have a personal theater? because it's not going to make a flying fuck of a difference on a standard size HDTV.

What a slogan! Thats something I'll keep from this movie. I truely loved the whole thing. The 70s suits, the old-style CIA agents, the music, the mustaches, everything. I was in grammar school when this embassy-incident took place and remember watching it everyday unfolding on the TV news. This movie is an instant classic, to my opinion. Shame it doesnt have more parts to include the rest of the events before and after the said operation.
A brilliant masterpiece of american art and history, with excellent acting, even better directing, awesome sound, really good photography and attention to the details.

The tragedies of real life beats all hollywood drama-scenarios tho... After decades of these events, the truth came out- there was a deal struck between the Iranians and the american government to free the hostages long before the operation of this movie had to happen. BUT... only after Jimmy Carter would lose the elections... (so R.Reagan would win the elections and come out as the forcefull president that imposes his will and saves americans).
Minor detail huh?
Lets hope those that lost their lives back then rest in piece now somewhere...
