(Problems with magnets links are fixed by upgrading your torrent client!)
This file originally uploaded by Ipmark thanks for his great work Features highways, interstates, and business and residential roads in metropolitan and rural areas in the U.S. and outlying areas, specifically: * Canada * Mexico * Puerto Rico * U.S. Virgin Islands * Cayman Islands * The Bahamas * French Guiana * Guadeloupe * Martinique * Saint Barthélemy * Jamaica instructions for using this file on your Nav unit. Part A – Internal Memory if you have more than 2GB free 1. Connect your device to the computer. 2. Go into the Nuvi files located in the Garmin folder and backup the file named “gmapprom.img” to your computer. 3. Delete the “gmapprom.img” file from the device. 4. Rename the file you downloaded "gmapsupp.img” to “gmapprom.img” 5. Copy the unlocked “gmapprom.img” file that you renamed into the device. (these copy proceedures could take up to 45 minutes to accomplish) 6. Restart your device and check your map info via : Tools>Settings>Map>Map Info. Why the renaming? This must be done because this is not the primary mapset as it is being used from the SD card. The primary mapset is the one on the GPS’s internal memory. Part B – SD Card 1. Get a 4GB SD card (NOT SDHC for old unit) and format it FAT32 2. Create a folder on the memory card called “Garmin” 3. Copy the downloaded “gmapsupp.img” file into the Garmin folder on your SD card. 4. Insert the SD card into your Garmin GPS, and browse to your map information on your Garmin GPS and you should see the new maps selected. This can be found on the device via : Tools>Settings>Map>Map Info. 5. Deselect the mapset that's out of date. ENJOY!

Nice, I'll have to finally update, I updated an old Nuvi 850/855W (some model like that) that had voice recognition using one of these unlocked mapsets before and after I did it, the VR stopped working until I reverted back to the older mapset. After that I've been kind of wary. I know alot of the newer Garmin Nuvi's have all kinds of other files that go along with the mapset like junction view/etc. Hope this doesn't mess them up. Downloading now, going to put in on an external memory card and slide it into my Nuvi 3790T and see what happens, I'll update with another post in a few days after I've tried it out.

@methguy
Tried 7z on two different WinXP computers, both downloads resulted in same message. Thanks for the file.
I have downloaded (lifetime update) the CN NA 2014.1 map image to my nuvi 770. Can this 770 file be used on other nuvi's or is it locked to the 770?

I am sorry . i don't know the answer

Does anyone know if this includes the 3d maps. (as in 3d ramp turn offs). I thought that was a separate file.
awesome, I have a Nuvi 750 and had to use an SD card to have room for all three (US, Canada, and Mexico). I renamed Mexico gmapprom1.img, kept Canada as gmapsupp.img in internal garmin folder and put US in SD card in garmin folder as gmapsupp.img. tested, works perfect. thanks
Anyone know how I can update a Garmin StreetPilot C330 with this file? I placed the img file in Garmin folder on SD card in the GPS but when I turn on the GPS, it stays on the "loading maps" screen for over half an hour before I turn it off.
worked perfect on my garmin nuvi 205w thanks!!
Any chance to re-upload this and keep it under 2GB? Thanks in advance.
thanx =D
Awesome. Worked with my Garmin Nuvi 855. New roads in my town are now available.
At this moment I don't need your up myself since I haven't been there for few years and I don't think I'll be going there any time soon (side note: your country is sinking, you have no manufacturing jobs, and all your government seems to be interested in is war... to which I say Fuck that).
Nevertheless, thanks buddy for the up.
But I was thinking about Canada, somehow I want to try this country. On the paper it seems nice. Nice people,polite, and friendly... I just may try it for a few years... but I digress...
Since I already have EU maps on my device, If I just drop it in my "map" folder and rename the file... will it read properly?

Oh... and just out of curiosity... EU maps are about ~3Gigs,N.America maps are ~1.3Gigabytes... Is EU that much denser (twice over) than N.America"?
Sorry, had to answer my own question... (I can't just edit my post on this site)
Come to think of it... yes, actually it makes sense.
I Lived in US for 15-20 yrs. and those iconic cities are a treat... from the outside.
US is mostly rural areas... rednecks if you will. And beside those few iconic metropolis cities they are waaay behind... world wide.
What was my point? (that's what you get when typing dunk). So4rry

Even though the instructions say you need a 4GB SD card I uses a 2GB card with No issues. I tested this on 2 different Garmin units (one over 5 years old) and it worked fine. If you are having issues with getting your Garmin to recognize the file on your SD card it is Very important to make sure it’s formatted in FAT32. FAT or NTFS or some other file system will Not work. Hope this helps some of you.
thank you for this. it works on my old htc dash/excalibur running windows mobile 6.5 with garmin mobile xt. i just replaced the old gmapsupp.img file from last year with this one and it works right away.
Thanks Man works really good!!
thanks me the guy I need this to go to new york soon and i hardly have money for gas
Fuck this shit! 7zip load a ton of crapware onto your computer.
2015.10 is out: http://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/10145319/Gamin_City_Navigator_USA_Lower_49_NT_2015.10_Unlocked
You must be using the wrong 7zip cuz the version at http://7-zip.org doesn't have anything else.

I can also confirm that the IMG file from this download fits on a 2GB microSD card formatted Fat32.
Does my SD card need to be plugged in at all times for it to use the new map or does it auto-copy and replace the old one internally?
