Spandex_Angel's very first torrent! ---------------------------------------------------- What you have here is the original Star Wars Trilogy as they were first presented before George Lucas & Friends decided to go beyond a simple digital restoration and instead place all kinds of cartoon shit in the movies we love. There's no more Looney Tunes entry into Mos Eisley. Boba Fett has his original voice before he was redubbed to sound like Jango Fett. That stupid digital song and dance sequence in Jabba's place... GONE! There's no Hayden Christensen at the end of ROTJ, and we get back our beloved Yub Nub! We even have the original monkey-eyed Emperor in ESB, voiced by Clive Revil. This comes from the DVD editions by Demonoid.com and uploaded by Legendarian. That release has 3 burnable ISO files meant for dual-layer discs, and it came with menus and multiple subtitles. The problem I had with that release was that the picture was too small. The video was widescreen, but for a 4:3 television; thus it looked like a small rectangle surrounded by black bars. Also, the subtitles looked ugly on my screen as I viewed them with VLC. I used Handbrake to rip the DVD files and turn them into MKVs, while also cropping the picture for 16:9 widescreen displays. I also remade the alien subtitles separately and used mkvmerge to add the subtitles to the files. You can see the before & after by looking at MKV_Fix.jpg. ---------------------------------------------------- What's missing from this release? Well, I actually remade the movies into MKVs for my own personal viewing and decided to place these online for others only as an after-thought. Therefore, there are no subtitles in any language throughout the movies EXCEPT for the alien subtitles in English. I know this sucks for some of you, but my plan is to burn all 3 mkv files onto one Blu-ray disc, and I wanted to make sure the alien subtitles popped up correctly without having to mess around with my remote. ----------------------------------------------------- I know the quality looks a little low. That's because the screen was small to begin with, and now it's expanded. However, you will not find any better online, at least for now. I've found that the picture looks better than VHS when I sit back from the TV at a normal viewing distance. ---------------------------------------------------- SPECS: STAR WARS: Length: 02:01:07 Frame: 714x274 Total Bitrate: 5354kbps (upconverted) Frame rate: 23fps Video Tracks: H264 (High @L3.0) Audio Tracks: AAC 2.0(eng); AC3 2.0 (eng) Channels: 2 (stereo) Audio SR: 48kHz ESB: Length: 02:04:53 Frame: 716x274 Total Bitrate: 5361kbps (upconverted) Frame rate: 23fps Video Tracks: H264 (High @L3.0) Audio Tracks: AAC 2.0(eng); AC3 2.0 (eng) Channels: 2 (stereo) Audio SR: 48kHz ROTJ: Length: 02:11:42 Frame: 708x274 Total Bitrate: 5355kbps (upconverted) Frame rate: 23fps Video Tracks: H264 (High @L3.0) Audio Tracks: AAC 2.0(eng); AC3 2.0 (eng) Channels: 2 (stereo) Audio SR: 48kHz ---------------------------------------------------- (Note: Lucasfilm or Disney does not lose any money because you download this, BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FIND THIS TRILOGY UNLESS YOU BUY IT OFF eBAY! I'll take this torrent down the day they release the theatrical releases of the Star Wars original trilogy on DVD and/or Blu-Ray.) ---------------------------------------------------- HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!

I'm trying to seed as best I can. I think my upload speed maxes out around 90kB/s.
I saw this on KAT. I have a similar release too. But rather than compete, I will help you seed. For a while.
Thanks, man. I appreciate that. Didn't realize you had that up already, so I'm not trying to step on you or anything.
Yours looks easier to download anyway. =)

nice release man. i also just uploaded empire strikes back from the 2004 dvd and had the same 4:3 issue...
I know what you meant about the aspect ratio in a 4:3 presentation. That part I found easy to correct. My biggest problem was getting the audio to synch. I have no idea why, but it was an issue that took me awhile to get right.
Thanks for going through the trouble and sharing with us!
Does anyone know how these compare to the other copies from Booster2?

JediYoshi,
There isn't too much of a difference.
--While his resolution is slightly higher, it looks fuzzier to me.
--Booster2's alien subtitles are burned in the video, and they look kind of terrible. Mine are forced subtitles that adapt to the player you're using; they look great in VLC (depending on your subtitle settings) and they're easy to read when playing the videoes off my blu-ray player.
--While the audio in his file is AC3, I have both AAC and AC3 tracks for you to choose from.
--He uses avi files with the older XviD codec, mine are mkv files using H264.
Other than these differences, I don't see much anything else.
I won't hate you if you go with his for the faster download time ;-)
Mine probably don't look too much better anyway. Like I say in the description, this was mostly my own project and I decided to post it up for others if they want it.

JediYoshi,
I just downloaded Booster2's version and took a screenshot to compare.

As you can see, there's a difference in coloration. And while his subtitles are burned in, mine are forced, meaning they are on a separate track and will adapt to your player's settings.
He uses an older codec while mine uses H264.
It all comes down to your preference, I guess. I won't get bummed or anything if you go with his over mine =)

What? Mine aren't worthy of screenshot comparison? :p

Thank you very much, I hate when they mess with stuff.
For those of you who don't want to download something so big, I created a mini version that's about 5.62 GB.
You can find that here:

I honestly registered just so I could thank you for your efforts, it was well worth waiting for the huge download. I totally love how it looks just like watching a VHS which is something special in this day of fancy hi res movies. Again thanks for taking me back to my childhood!
I'm astonished by the great quality of the movies, thank you so much
