Jerry talks about his early days as a musician, playing the blues for black audiences for food, LSD, living in his broken down Cadillac and some of the characters that helped him become a world-class musician and leader of the Grateful Dead. Watching this interview is very interesting but can be a downer.
Jerry truly looked like a junkie (more than ever in any interviews or photos that I've seen in his entire career.
He took his dose of heroin before the interview and was sweating horribly. He was also unusually impatient in the interview in contrast of what is usually seen in his past interviews.
The writing was definitely on the wall when watching this.
