"If you believe it is your skin color that inhibits you...you are not free." -Stephen E. Broden
No, it's not skin color, it's people's reaction to and beliefs about your skin color. To thrive, particularly as a politician, you have to become an Uncle Tom republican like Stephen E. Broden among the Texans and say the things they want you to say, like that skin color doesn't hold you back.
That’s brilliant...go ahead and tell people that it is the perceptions of others that determines whether or not they are truly free. The way to continue to perpetuate this propagandist message that all american blacks continue to live in a perpetual state of bondage is that you must convince us that we are powerless to shape our own futures. Then you can be the slavemaster.
onlyjared. yes you shouldnt make your colour affect your progress in life. However you would have to be fcking retarded if you didnt think the war on drugs and the sheer amount of black dudes in Prison is insane.
Great point, bloodred125. Those numbers are startling and there's a great reason for them. There's nothing the elite establishment fears more than free individuals and a free black man is a hell of a force to be reckoned with as is clear with the reverend. As far as the prison populations go the roots of racism still run very deep within the police population whom also subscribe to the idea of skin color being a factor in behavior. It always comes back to the enforcers and their absurd behavior and complete lack of honor.
Thank you very much!
You know what bloodred? You’re right. Since you brought up that statistic...I think I’m just gonna go start sellin’ heroine...and then when I get arrested I can teach my fellow convicts how to do productive things. Like spell.
