Tintin in the Congo (French: Tintin au Congo) is the second volume of The Adventures of Tintin, the comics series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. Commissioned by the conservative Belgian newspaper Le XXe Siècle as colonialist propaganda for its children's supplement Le Petit Vingtième, it was serialised weekly from May 1930 to June 1931. The story tells of young Belgian reporter Tintin and his dog Snowy, who are sent to the Belgian Congo to report on events in the country. Amidst various encounters with the native Congolese and wild animals, Tintin unearths a criminal diamond smuggling operation run by the American gangster Al Capone. Following on from Tintin in the Land of the Soviets and bolstered by publicity stunts, Tintin in the Congo was a commercial success, appearing in book form shortly after the serial's conclusion. Hergé continued The Adventures of Tintin with Tintin in America in 1932, and the series subsequently became a defining part of the Franco-Belgian comics tradition. In 1946, Hergé re-drew and coloured Tintin in the Congo in his distinctive ligne-claire style for republication by Casterman, with further alterations made for a 1975 edition. In the late 20th century, Tintin in the Congo came under criticism for its perceived racist attitude to the Congolese and glorification of big-game hunting, and attempts were made in Belgium and the United Kingdom to restrict its availability to children. ------ This was requested by a user who wanted the color, English edition for coursework. Try as I might, I've only found these: English, black & white Spanish, color French, color Hopefully, the b&w one will suffice. If anyone has the English album in color, post 'er up please! --STF

This is the super racist one right? I hope this is for sociological purposes, and not just some jackass white supremacist.
Thanks for the ul, STFmaryville, as well as for the other ones today!
I used to collect the Tintin series back in the day, except for the very early ones, I had pretty much the whole set.
The Asterix and Obelix series was the other one that I enjoyed. I wish someone would ul those on TPB one day, but I've yet to see that happen.
On another matter: Has anybody noticed the absence of the ZINC torrents the past few days?

Is there any chance for the new Asterix and Picts in English or German or Russian or Italian or anything which isn't French?
oh yeah it's racist, and i think the person was being sincere. i'm sure it's an item that's used in academia constantly.
binderguy1, whenever i search for european comics, i usually head for data9724's torrents: http://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/5214495/Asterix_1-33___extras
that's a few years old but a pretty good set.
my next stop is usually magazine3k.com, 'cause it has a huge assortment of italian comic uploads and more...

Re Tintin, just to confirm, I downloaded all of the available torrent packs a while ago (sometime before the incomplete Minutemen Hi-Res set was released), and there seems to be only one (English) release of this issue - which comes in two versions at minutely different filesizes, one of which has one page upside-down.
Re Asterix, the only (English) high-quality scans I've seen so far were the two issues fairly recently released by Alice and included in the ComicPirates Hitlists, namely
"Asterix #25 - The Great Divide (English Retail) (1980) (Alice)"
"Asterix #26 - The Black Gold (English Retail) (1981) (Alice)"
micron66, yeah that's a good board. as boards go, i prefer Bolt.cd over kaskus.co.id -- are they really OPs on kaskus? i thought kaskus was pretty much like bolt and magazine3k, just reposting stuff from newsgroups. :-)
gesserit, where you been?
gesserit, where you been?
I was off reporter'ing in the Congo, duh.
Carrying The White Man's Burden and all that!
I don't think the Kaskus scanlation thread is an official or original release thread, if there is such a thing, but some of the posters certainly look and sound like the real deal, which is to say scanners affiliated with the major release groups or of more or less comparable stature.
^ Alright, "Pink Man's Burden", then!
"the pink's skull's burden", a tell-all semi-autobiographical novel about an uploader, the heartaches and triumphs of finding that one missing issue of Count Duckula from 1989, and the riveting drama of finding an answer for "how come you haven't made a torrent for every last issue that came out, ever?"
on 2nd thought, fuck novel, we have a CW tv show right here... :-)

"Every last issue that came out ever", huh? I'll get right on that!
Upcoming item in gesserit's "The Collected" series of torrents:
"The Collected Comics (Various|15,000 BC-AD 2013|Various|Various)"

Sorry, I only have the "(Fingerpainting) (Caveman-TSAR)" releases for most of those. Resolutions are literally off-the-scale, though!
besides the fact that would be like 4million terabytes and eat up your entire life it sounds f****** awesome
Thank you!! Request for new Asterix and the Picts please?
see response to migotka21 (above)

There is no racism per se in this, other than a coupe of childish remarks which remount to the mentality of almost 100 years ago, when the first version of this comic was published, and also other than factually and historically correct depictions of the Africans of any typical African tribe of the interior of Africa at the time (and for that matter, of today, as it is still, although instead of spears they use AK-47s nowadays to achieve the same purpose).
Some folks just confuse racism with "not politically correct" or "not adapted from 100 years ago to the XXIth century spoon-fed, pro-integration, pro-we-is-all-so-beautiful, pro-conformist generation".
