The game by default is in french. Can be changed to another supported language (i think it supports english, french, spanish, german and italian) by opening the bottle (right click - show package contents) and navigating to drive_c/users/Wineskin/Application Data/Ubisoft/Anno1404/Config and opening the Engine.ini file with a text editor of your choice (textedit is ok).

Replace fra with either eng, ita, ger or spa. Happy gaming :)

Game starts and runs, but when i get to the start screen it's zoomed in so i can't see about 40% of the screen, also the mouse clicks about 1 inch to the right from where the pointer is...

Works fine. You can solve the zoomed in problem the same way you change the language by opening the bottle (right click - show package contents) and navigating to drive_c/users/Wineskin/Application Data/Ubisoft/Anno1404/Config and opening the Engine.ini file with textedit. Change the resolution by typing it in to the first 2 lines and it should be fixed

Thanks for the helpful comments. Playing the game would not have happened without the good advice. Here's an additional bit, on a 15 inch retina Macbook Pro, it is advisable to set the resolution in the engine.ini file to 1,680 × 1,050. When I entered the native resolution, a bunch of lines appeared and the text was illegibly small.
