dont work. crashes after "new game" with some error with "EoCApp.exe" and "MSVCR90.dll". All required soft installed. tried to reinstall all soft from "_CommonRedist". not helps.

I mean. The game actually runs. But after "new game" it loads too long and afterall it crashes.

works great so far. 2hrs in. no quest markers on maps but may not supposed to be. so far a cool game.

OK, I am not new to this at all. And I have tried every way I can thing of to get this to work properly. I have had not luck. Would seem as though this is just a poor rip. If I am wrong then please, for all that is right in the world let me know so I can try this gem of a game.

The file is encrypted, and the "instructions" to grab the password ask you to go complete those annoying survey. Of course, by survey, they mean go buy some crap online. Seeing as most people can't get this game to work anyway, this is most likely a scam. Don't bother wasting your time and bandwith on it, and wait for a real torrent.

works and i am still running it 1_22_2014. all it needed was extract to install folder and run Launcher. you guys are handicapped that can't run it?

While I cannot vouch for the others, I can assure that I am not "handicapped". Everyone here is have different troubles on getting this game to run. I have fixed it to point as to where it will attempt to launch the CTD immediately after that. Turns out, by looking upon the forums that others who have legit copies are having the same problem. It is an alpha after all. Meaning there will situations and hardware/software configurations that it simply will not work with. I did not encounter encryption on the file so I'm not sure what Kakaroto640 is referring to.

No, sometimes its there when you extract, sometimes its not. And even when all the files are present, it will CTD either immediately, or when you try to start a new game. This release is just broken. Would love to try this out before putting money down, but it doesn't look good.

let me confirm. this crack works. this release works. it's working. what doesn't work well is the game. it's in EARLY ALPHA. It is not well optimized. On my fairly high end machine it appears to freeze for a bit, but it is in fact just loading a gigabyte or two of stuff into memory, even just for the main menu. if you don't have a high end desktop pc and the game doesn't work it might mean that even the paid version of the alpha wouldn't work either. Typically optimization of the game happens later into beta. this game probably requires at least 4gb of ram and a 64bit OS and probably some other requirements too.

oh and on top of these problems with being hard to run, even the paying customers are reporting lots of random crashes. this is alpha. alpha comes before beta. larian was debating not releasing the alpha at all because it was so buggy and unfinished but the fans begging convinced them to do it. instead of just waiting for it to reach beta before letting fans at it.

whelp this game is awesome and the official real early access version has had dozens of small patches since this release and is a much higher version number...... so... i think i might have to just buy it since no one is releasing these updates.

The problem is when you have extracted.
Copy the folder "Shipping" to your desktop, then put the steam_api.dll inside. Check if the folder is not "ReadOnly" before, then you replace the original "Shipping" folder.
The problem is a type of restriction.

Or just open the winrar as administrator, then extract the game. kkk

I extracted all 3 archives into a folder and I got an appliation error - EoCApp.exe "The application was unable to start correctly"

It also detects steamapi.dll as a virus win32/blacked w/ avg

Ok I got it to work now. Seems like AVG was blocking steamapp.dll all I had to do was disable firewall
