Can some one tell me on how to fix the flickering issue after the opening credits and all? Happens at the main menu for me. Googled and found no solution for it.

Alright guys i downloaded torrent then right clicked on the kotor part 1 file and selected extract to here. It took a pretty good while to extract and actually filled up a folder with a little over 7gb of content, now it says i have to overwrite to unzip the remaining 4 parts and when i try to run from the .exe file it crashes after the lucas films screen. Im running windows 8 on a HP laptop. Any and all help would be MUCH appreciated!!

On vista 64bit, "can't load save file" bug is present....have tried many things.
-run as admin
-compatibility mode to xp service 2
-fullscreen=0 in the .ini
Anyone else with the issue??

for issue with "Save file crash/Clicking Load Game" bug. (only with nvidia cards)
In NVIDIA control panel set Threaded Optimization "OFF"
Apply
next, Right click on the Star Wars Knights of the old Republic folder, goto properties, turn off "READ ONLY", apply to all folders within, and click ok
SAVE FILES WORK NOW

I have a problem. After I extract the the rar files, I cannot find the exe file in any of the folders. Can you guys help me with that?

My game keeps crashing as soon as it gets to the screen to start a new game. I'm running windows 8. I tried running it in compatibility mode for every other windows version, but it still crashes each time. I also changed the setting to read only and run the program as admin.

Works excellent! It is the latest exe v2.2.0.0. No need to revert back to 2.1 for the widescreen to work just use Flawless Widescreen. If someone needs help regarding this you can PM me on forums here, https://pirates-forum.org/index.php

If your game crashes when starting a new game, DISABLE "FRAME BUFFER EFFECTS" in the settings. Working in Windows 8.1

Disable Both "Soft Shadow" and "Frame Buffer Effects" to stop crashing after creating a new character.

Windows 8.1 32 bit - doesn't work. 'Frame Buffer Effects' and 'Soft Shadows' are disabled. Doesn't make any difference because... why would it?
