@Peta Flux Don't be such an ignorant. Arabs introduced the practice of cesarean and other procedures that involve surgery. It was not easy even in their culture to accept that. You can imagine the impact of that in the rest of the world. Every culture has contributed with something, even the arabs, you ignorant primate.

The middle east helped preserve vast amounts of knowledge and outright technology while the west was caught up in dictatorships and corrupt religious institutions. Literally if it wasn't for the middle east, humanity, and the quality of life our technology allows us, wouldn't exist as we know it right now. There's a good chance that we would be anywhere between two hundred and five hundred years behind where we are now. They preserved knowledge while Christian churches were burning scientific texts.
It just makes me shake my head, if you take all of history into consideration. We now have individuals like PetaFlux born of western nations that exist as they do in this day and age due to, well, dictators, corruption, slavery, and many other nasty things, ALL of those things have directly contributed to how countries have existed between one another, as well as how they've been shaped over the past five hundred years. The western world that I was born in would not exist if it wasn't for all those, well, evil things. Yet people still have the gull to call things like this movie arab propaganda.
It's kind of disheartening really. That people are capable of such blind hatred, and that people exist with such biased "knowledge" of our history as a species.
We have in front of us the single greatest collection of human information, the Internet, accessible to pretty much anyone in western nations, if not across the globe, and we choose to be ignorant. We don't want to learn. That takes effort. So we sit here, pirate movies, and just shit on everything. It's not apathy, or a benign disinterest in society, it just seems to be some kind of deep seated anger, hatred, maybe just self loathing...
Wake up people... Love your selves and those others who are existing in the same existence as the rest of us. We're all on the same ride, don't ruin the amusement park for everyone else.

While it may be true that because of people in the Middle East (Arabs, Jews, etc.) a lot of knowledge was preserved and updated while Europe sank into the Middle Ages, you need to take into account that if it were not for the Muslim conquest of Egypt in 642 AD our planet would be between 500 to 1000 years more advanced. The destruction of the Library of Alexandria set us back almost a millenium.
